About Mrs. Megan

Hello!  I'm Mrs. Megan Reed.  I live in Buford, Georgia and teach in Duluth, Georgia.  In 2009 I graduated magna cum laude from Brenau University with my Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education.  I'm married with 2 dogs that are my babies.  I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, couponing, cooking, reading, house decorating, and being involved in my church, 12Stone Church.

I've lived in Georgia all of my life and always wanted to teach in Gwinnett County.  Right now I'm teaching at Howell Station Academy.  It is my second year at this school and my second year teaching.  I teach 22 spunky Pre-K students at ages 4-5.  I have 15 boys and 7 girls, so we're a very lively and energetic bunch.  We are funded by the Georgia Lottery so we follow the curriculum laid out by Bright From the Start.

Teaching is definitely my passion.  From a young age I knew that this was what I was supposed to do.  Since I teach Pre-K I get the priviledge of laying the foundation for my students.  This is their first year in school and I get to mold how they feel about school for the rest of their lives.  What an honor!  I'm the kind of teacher that will sing, dance, and play with my students to help them learn.  One of my favorite parts of teaching is seeing that twinkle in my students' eyes when something finally clicks.  We work hard in my class, but we have fun doing it!
